Bearbassador : Ben Donaldson

For this series we'll be taking a deeper dive into the Bearhug pack - the inspirational community of  athletes to find out more about why they do what they do and what Bearhug means to them.

Who Are You?

Ben Donaldson.

Running was never something I ever imagined actually 'enjoying'. I would be made to run at school and hated it. Once I discovered triathlon when I was 23, I never looked back. Running is obviously one of the disciplines, so I had to learn to love it. I went from starting triathlon in 2018 with an Olympic distance Triathlon to an Ironman 70.3, to a Full Ironman, then turned my attention to Marathons and Ultra-marathons.

I use the Bearhug calf supports. With the relentless mileage in training for a 100km Ultra, I've picked up a fair few niggles along the way. The calf supports have helped manage tendonitis in particular and ensure I can stick to my training plan.

What Is Your Achievement?

Has to now be running. I work from home and find it the perfect way to challenge myself in a different way and also get some good mental clarity. Aiming at a 100km Ultra-marathon this July (2024)

What does it mean to be part of the pack?

I've always wanted to use brands that really make a difference and are conscious about the environment. It's an added benefit that Bearhug have such a mega team behind them too!
